Early settlers to Lisle were attracted by the prime timber, agricultural land and optimum water resources available. In 1850 Lisle Township was created, but the Village of Lisle was not incorporated until 1956. Today Lisle is situated at the crossroads of two major interstates in the heart of DuPage County’s High Tech Corridor. It offers an ideal setting for residents, businesses and visitors alike.

Worldwide or major facilities of several technology companies including Tellabs, Molex, IKON Office Solutions, Wallace Services, Divine, Inc. and AT&T are located in Lisle.

Shopping
The downtown business area is undergoing a revitalization program. There are a variety of businesses including retail shops and professional offices.

Schools
Lisle is served by two public school districts, Community Unit School District 202 and Naperville 203. Both districts were recognized nationally for providing quality education at a reasonable cost to taxpayers and for a high level of academic achievement. Two parochial schools are also located within the village. Benedictine University with an enrollment of 2700 students is located within the village and College of DuPage and North Central Colleges are located nearby.

Hospitals
There are three major hospitals in the immediate vicinity: Good Samaritan, Edwards and Hinsdale Hospitals all providing quality medical care.

Recreation
The park district maintains a community fitness center, an aquatic park and golf course in addition to the many park facilities found in the area. They also have a preschool program.

Many denominations are represented in Lisle. Others are located in nearby communities.
